Classically trained, Arnie Abrams studied classical, popular and jazz piano in New Haven and later in the Buffalo area. Arnie’s dad, a fine pianist in his own right, taught him how to develop his musical ear, and trained him to play by “ear” without the use of sheet music.
Arnie began his professional musical career in New Haven, CT, as a pianist in many restaurants and piano bars including The Recovery Room, Tandom’s, The Summit House, 500 Blake Street, and App’s Ristorante.
Later in his career, Arnie worked as a booking agent and performing musician for Richard Neal Productions in Hamden, CT, where he learned the music business and worked with many fine musicians and vocalists performing at lots of different venues from Philadelphia to New York City and Connecticut.
For the last 20 years, Arnie has been performing all over Philadelphia and surrounding region. In addition to the numerous private parties at clients’ homes, he is a frequent performer at such venues as The Cescaphe Ballroom, The Union League, The Bellevue Hotel, Lowes Hotel Millenium, The Pen Ryn Estate, and the Knowlton Mansion, just to name a few.
Combining his classical background, the wonderful songs of the Great American Song Book, and the favorite 70’s & 80’s rock music that he grew up with, Arnie learned many of the most wonderful standards that were so popular during the 20th century.
